Bangrak/Big Buddha beaches

Bangrak and Big Buddha beaches are located also on the north coast and offers convenience due to proximity to the airport as well as boat charters to Koh Phangan and Koh Tao with boat operators such as Seatran and Haadrin Queen. Petcherat Pier is organising daily tours to Angthong Marine Park and Koh Tao, speed boats private trips and all night transfer to Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan. There is a big food market just at the beginning of the airport , which sells all kind of fruits, vegetables and the best and freshest fresh seafood and meat.

There is a very good Ban Sabai Spa in Bangrak with a big choice of excellent treatments.

This area offers a number of relaxed and low to medium priced resorts, some of them are well established – resorts such as Saboey, Samui Mermaid, Nara Garden and Punnpreeda and some are new and already got a very good reputation – resorts such as Villa Tanamera, The Scent Resort (former Karmakamet), vegetarian non-smoking Prana resort, and an upmarket Destinations Resort and Spa.

The beach is hit and miss, some parts are not very good for swimming due to corals and rocks in the sea, but other parts, for example on the beach of Saboey resort is excellent. Big Budda beach is also great for sunsets.  Try BBC cafe near Big Buddha – one of the best points for sunset.
